King William’s College & The Buchan School
King William’s College was founded in 1668 under the umbrella of Bishop Barrow’s Charity and is the Island’s only independent school. It provides a broad and balanced co-education in the Anglican tradition from age 3 to 18, with the Buchan School providing the preparatory stage and the King William’s College site the senior stage.
Both schools are set in the finest traditions of the British public schools and follow the spirit of the National Curriculum but teaching well beyond it. The mission of the College is to enable pupils to develop to the full, not only academically but as people.
Through laying firm foundations while at school, we intend that they will lead richer and more fulfilled lives and be better able to serve the communities in which they find themselves as adults.
