The Rope Drop
Younger members of the audience were invited to attempt the rope drop – a slide down a rope suspended over the water, aiming to drop off the rope through a ring floating on the water. Needless to say, it was harder than it looked. Here’s a few pictures which show the required technique.

The Snake Races

As well as the races there were other entertainments. At one point some spectators seeking a closer view of the action from a boat ran into al ittle trouble with their barbecue. Fortunately the Fire Brigade were on hand to provide assistance.
