OUTLINE OF THE CLUB

Castletown youth and community Centre, with the help of its members and the local community has recently been refurbished with new toilets, disabled toilet, baby changing faciities as well as redecoration to most areas.

The main activities of the club are its large gym (football, badminton, hockey etc.) TV lounge with DVD/Video, computer suite with laptops and PCs with internet access, homework study area, cafe with drinks, hot and cold food, and a games room for pool, table tennis, table football, darts etc.

Other activities include arts and crafts, games, play station, digital cameras, trips out, community based projects such as beach cleans and outdoor adventures.

Present activities;

Monday 6 to 9 pm – Soundcheck – part of the Island wide music club for school year 7 +

Tuesday 7 – 9.30 – Youth club yr 7 + but aimed at yr 9 +

Wednesday 6.45 to 8.45 – Youth club yr 7, 8 & 9

Thur 7 – 9.30 – Youth club yr 7 +

Fri 6 – 7.15 – Play club for yr 4, 5 & 6

Fri 7.30 – 9.30 Youth club for yr 7, 8 & 9

Sat 7 30 – 10 pm drop in yr 7 +

The Youth Service

All the staff employed at the centre are employed by the Department of Education and are part of a team of over 160 staff throughout the island.

The area youth officer for the south of the island is Angela Guest, who can be contacted on 686057.

Community Use
